Cryotaurus salmovenator

A species of dragon whose range extends from Western Canada to Eastern Alaska, Cryotaurus is an oppurtunistic predator that is known for feeding on salmon during the warmer months.  When salmon are scarce they'll prey on mammals of all sorts; from rabbits to cervids.  Cryotaurus is a member of a dragon family known as the Cryopteridae; a group known for their covering of warm fluffy pelage and bony projections at the sides of their head.  During colder months, Cryotaurus usually try to avoid flying, as their naked wings can cause them to loose important body heat.  In fact, Cryotaurus have completely lost their first digits on their wings, as another extra way to prevent heat loss.  

Another one of 's dragons from his "Dragons of the World" series.  I've done this species in the past a few times, primarily because it is one of my favorite dragons from the series, and I felt there was a need for a re-make from my previous depictions.
