Titanophoneus potens

A large Anteosaurid Dinocephalian about 2.85 meters (9-10 feet) in length. Like its close cousins, Titanophoneus had a very thick skull covered in bony knobs. These knobs may have been used in headbutting contests between males, or helped to protect the face from bites. Its jaws were powerful, and like many therapsids, it had enlarged "sabre-teeth". It lived during the Middle Permian in Russia.
