Common Name:  Sawtail

This dog-sized ornithopod is highly adaptable, and can be found in a wide variety of habitats across Skull Island (the exception being the high mountains in the center of the island).  They can weigh up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs).  This animal has a highly varied diet, being able to tackle almost any flora on the island, along with nuts, seeds, and fruit.  There have also been occasional reports of these animals digging up roots and tubers.  They have very high breeding rates, and can be found in mixed sex flocks across Skull Island.  Sawtails earn their common name from the rows of scutes running down the dorsal and under side of their tails, which are present in both sexes.  Sawtails are sexually dimorphic, with males being covered in greyish-white plumage, complete with bright pink waddles located on the neck, nose, and around the eyes.  These are used for display during the breeding periods.  Females are a more bland, darker grey, and lack the waddles present on the males.  Sawtails are often timid and wary, but can occasionally be approached with relative ease.
